About the Author

David Bailey

The Unusual Zoo was created by author David Bailey as a result of his efforts to remotely entertain his grandchildren during the pandemic!

With its humour, original animal characters, and use of rhyme, he hopes the book will help children and parents re-invent storytelling and encourage future generations to create characters and write their own adventures. David runs competitions for Primary schools to get involved with him so that children can create their own new creatures to join The Unusual Zoo.

David Bailey is also the author of Thoughts From Grandpa. He is also a former BBC Dragons Den entrepreneur and international business consultant, who started writing children’s rhyming stories to teach the use of words and to promote kindness and politeness in an ever-increasing world of trolling and unpleasant behaviour amongst children. These books are clever, kind, and full of really funny, joyful adventures.
